Obviusly those studying philosophy can discuss aspects of what we're studying in the various forums but why not have a thread for other aspects of education such as personal statements and advice on various stuff not related to whats being studied?

I imagine many here are doing or have done philosophy related courses so could give helpfull advice to people. I start a degree next year and it'd be nice to have a place on here to chat about how its going.

You can chat about how your degree is going in the Community/Off-Topic forum. What gets its own forum or subforum is based on posting trends. For instance, the philosophy of religion forum had so many topics asking about faith-specific questions that we opened a Religion (non-philosophical) subforum.
