Why did quote box text get so tiny?

My first reaction was positive, I like being able to differentiate the quote from the response easily. I can see how people would want to be able to read it more easily, and I'd be in support of an alternative like a border or different coloration. When it comes down to it, though, I care more about being able to distinguish the quote easily than about being able to re-read it easily (in my case, I almost always have read the quote before).
