Anything that was off the Perfect Circle Album, it was pure art. If anyone can get a hold of Maynard doing the Hollow live in Detroit (I think Detriot), it is amazing.

The Hollow
Run desire run this sexual being run him like a blade to and through the heart no conscience one motive to cater to the hollow
Screaming feed me here fill me up again temporarily pacify this hungering
So grow libido throw dominoes of indiscretions down falling all around in cycles circles constantly consuming, conquer and devour
It’s time to bring this fire down bridle all this indiscretion long enough to edify and permanently fill this hollow
Feed me fill me up again temporarily pacifying
feed me here fill me up again temporarily pacify this hungering

Rose
Don’t disturb the beast the temperamental goat the snail while he's feeding on the rose stay frozen compromise what I will I am
Bend around the wind silently blown about again I’m treading so soft and lightly compromising my will I am
I am I will so no longer will I lay down play dead play your doe in the headlights shut down and terrified your deer in the headlights locked down and horrified when push comes to pull comes to shove comes to step around this self destructive dance that never would've ended till I rose I roared aloud here I will I am
I am I will so no longer will I lay down play dead play your beat down gun shy martyr pitiful I rose I roared I will I am

Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat, but as temporality embarrassed millionaires. {John Steinbeck}

For me, at this moment in my life it has to be without a doubt,
"2+2=5" by Radiohead.

*Its the devils way now
There is no way out
You can scream and you can shout
But its too late now
Because
YOU HAVE NOT BEEN PAYING ATTENTION.*

I always thought Radiohead were a rather depressing kinda band until this album. To me the message of HTTT is very much: WAKE UP, PEOPLE !!

FROM A BEACH

seabird
annoying when you cry out
you dont get the thing that you need
then youre on your way

you take off
to clouds above a blue gulf
and you spot the prey that you need
flash between the waves

white ladies looking lovely
the sun makes their skin bubbling hot
mine blisters and it itches
a life gaurd blows his whistle proud

Gliding
swimming in the curl
the tide rips back on the shells and
it tickles the sand like clay bells
my visions in a blur

people floating
on rafts of yellow pink and pearl
the current is pulling on bare legs
imagine the beach of an old age
that wasn't filled with girls

trying to get cool

day brings
the rainbow cut umbrellas
that bloom like nylon flowers
perking up for rays

from the sky see
the shifting of their shadows
the way that all the towels blow
Hope it does not rain

Brown baby dig for nothing
you'll truly figure something out
sweet hands from ice cream dripping
some one sees dolphins "look" they shout

and in the shallows shells are homes
for the crabs that walk alone
and if you do not walk just right
i see you jump from tiny bites

I don't really have any songs but I have felt that way about songs at certain times, if I heard them again now I might not feel the same but at the time they were incredibly moving.

BOWIE!

This is a great song.

This song is about his step-brother who was schizophrenic and was a kind of reflection on their relationship i believe. I'm not sure if his brother was either really ill or had just died.

Truly amazing song though!

David Bowie - The Bewlay Brother

And so the story goes they wore the clothes
They said the things to make it seem improbable
The whale of a lie like they hope it was
And the goodmen tomorrow
Had their feet in the wallow
And their heads of brawn were nicer shorn
And how they bought their positions with saccharin and trust
And the world was asleep to our latent fuss
Sighing, the swirl through the streets
Like the crust of the sun
The bewlay brothers
In our wings that bark
Flashing teeth of brass
Standing tall in the dark
Oh, and we were gone
Hanging out with your dwarf men
We were so turned on
By your lack of conclusions

I was stone and he was wax
So he could scream, and still relax, unbelievable
And we frightened the small children away
And our talk was old and dust would flow
Thru our veins and lo! it was midnight
Back at the kitchen door
Like the grim face on the cathedral floor
And the solid book we wrote
Cannot be found today
And it was stalking time for the moonboys
The bewlay brothers
With our backs on the arch
In the devil-may-be-here
But he can't sing about that
Oh, and we were gone
Real cool traders
We were so turned on
You thought we were fakers

Now the dress is hung, the ticket pawned
The factor max that proved the fact
Is melted down
And woven on the edging of my pillow
Now my brother lays upon the rocks
He could be dead, he could be not
He could be you
He's chameleon, comedian, corinthian and caricature
Shooting-up pie-in-the-sky
The bewlay brothers
In the feeble and the bad
Bewlay brothers
In the blessed and cold
In the crutch-hungry dark
Was where we flayed our mark
Oh, and we were gone
Kings of oblivion
We were so turned on
In the mind-warp pavilion
