I'm afraid that in 39 pages I lost the answer to

what is truth?

any user of good will wants to summarise it for me?

Truth is whatever you belive is true(yeah and the sky is blue :/). You can't tell a sane man to cut off his arm, let along his finger.

This song will prepare you for a good smile.

Then there are no false beliefs? And knowledge is only justified belief?

I don't agree.

Davidson: We make maximum sense of the words and thoughts of others when we interpret in a way that optimizes agreement.

Truth exists! mad

...and that's the point. You belive in your own truth. Another man has his own truth. Beliefs are relative. The only thing that is the same is reality. Knowledge would come from higher belief. Yes, there are false beliefs, but only when a man is open to knowledge, he can change those false beliefs.

Blah. That's just confusing beliefs and truths.

It works like this. Some statements are true. Some statements are believed. The two are not the same. You can know a statement only if it is both true and believed.

If you believe something that is not true, it is a false belief. You cannot know something that is not true.

I don't want to get in over my head.
I was thinking about how I should say what you just said. Thank you, for the clarification.
What I'm trying to say is that even though a belief might be false, still someone will belive that it is true. When in reality it is not.

Then how can I be sure about anything?
The question "what is truth" looses it's meaning in this context.

How about this:

Truth is the state of affairs as they actually exist. Truth relates to an objective reality which holds constant and is interpreted by subjective actors.

The problems with recognizing truth is what I think this thread has been mostly about, but I skipped a few pages so I'm not sure.

Sometimes I feel hungry. While it is true that I am hungry, I don't suppose we would describe that fact as "objective".

So I can believe any statement I like, that has nothing to do with truth. Some statements are true, i.e. they tell something true.

Which means something:

real?
logical?
coherent?
you-name-it?

But don't use "true" in the above.
