Is there a problem with this site? Pages load very slowly - maybe 20 to 40 secs. Pages on other sites load instantly.

guys, why are you complaining about '7.76' seconds, this page was created in 34.45 seconds! The last page I went to was created in 103.something seconds! Please do something, this site is all that is holy on the internet, perhaps minus some other sites.

Maybe if you cut down on the number of queries performed on each page? Seriously, I noticed the query count on some pages, and can't understand why it needs so many for that function.

After opening a few pages the site in general becomes pretty much unusable here. For example, loading http://forums.philosophyforums.com/thread/24477 was: 33 total queries This page was created in 121.56 seconds Memory used: 6018504 bytes I've noticed that this is guaranteed to happen (pretty much) after I open 2-3 tabs, but also happens after a while when only using a single window/tab.

This will hopefully be addressed by a server tech who I'm going to have looking at the mysql configuration in a couple of days (have to let mysql run for 48 hours first).

MySQL is now properly optimized, but there's also an issue of too many emails. I've unsubscribed everyone. Will test turning emails off for a few hours.

Results of the test show that load is low (~0.5) and pages are fast (~2 seconds) when emails are shut off. Turning emails back on now after flushing exim and hoping it won't slow down again.
