Worst of all, I am to be subject to the feeble interjections of that interminable tin clot.

Please, someone move this thread!!!

So he made it all up because he failed to pluck his own nasal hair.

Sounds about right.

But way down here in off-topc, the Overmen will never notice this sublime and crushing critique of their hero. THere must be a conspiracy afoot.

I lack the equilibrium necessary to attempt the slippery slope that is hair removal.

Is cutting your lawn grass with scissors or plowing fields with bare hands character building? No, it's stupid when you have high efficiency tools specifically designed for the task.

I don't think this is necessarily the case. Depending on the intention and the aim, I'd say plowing fields with bare hands, or shaving one's head with bare hands can be not stupid. I mean, don't some people pluck the hair off their heads for spiritual reasons? Or: Can't I plow fields with bare hands for, say, the sake of exercising more and being more fit?

But I'm not sure these things actually build character, as in, from scratch. I mean, it seems to me that they sustain or reinforce an already existing character--I think this might have been what is meant; because it seems to me that actions like these (intentionally taken up by the men in question) don't change an already existing character or build a new one but sustain an already existing one. At least that's what I'm thinking now.

Then again, I think the idea is quite interesting: I mean, how far can one change his character and still be himself, assuming one can change his character?

Cheers.
