PPS: The Talimar thought process is actually going to make an appearence.

"...There was a writer who asked why it was that when we find positive experiences we say that only the physical facts are real, but in negative experiences we believe that reality is subjective. He made an example of those who say that in birth only the pain is real, the joy a subjective point of view, but that in death it is the emotional loss that is the reality." - Tony Ballantyne, Recursion.

Ah, Hyena. You too will suffer the enmity of time, your beauty replaced by follicles and fur. Give some thought to what is to come.

If you breathed fire, the nasal hair problem would disappear.

If you won't fan the flames of discontent, at least don't join the fire department.

First Cantaloupians, Chapter 2, Verses, 25-30:

"To pluck is divine, especially since scissors hath not been invented yet. Pluck away, though ye be manly. But beware oh woman, that thou plucketh not, for it be not comely to thine sex, and for a woman to pluck shall be vile in the eyes of the Lord! Yea, a man shall harvest his nose hairs and saveth them for forty days and forty nights. Upon the forty-first night, he shall maketh a bonfire of the hairs and offer them up to the Lord, who looking down upon this offering, shall grin. A-Men!"

For myself then, being a direct descendant of the Cantaloupians, it has to be plucking for me...a quick yank and it's all done.

The question is a simple one - is nose-hair plucking character building? Is it something in which the philosopher ought engage?
Is cutting your lawn grass with scissors or plowing fields with bare hands character building? No, it's stupid when you have high efficiency tools specifically designed for the task.

Hi,

You're all whimps. Nietszche would be ashamed of you. Use pliers and just rip the lot out. If there's a little blood so much the better!

Now do you want to here my philosophy on DIY dentistry? (It also involves pliers!)

Cheers.

Why, exactly?

I think that happens because of how the gravitational impact of a passing star affects the orbits of a planet in a system -- though I'm not really sure, just guessing here.
