Yeah... possession of marijuana and alcohol to minors (and I'm a minor raised eyebrow ). I am pissed. I could not sleep on that god damn metal bed in the cell. What makes me so mad is that my friends and I were not doing anything to anyone; we were just chilling by ourselves, smoking it up. But, these cops come and treat us like animals. And, the cops actually think that they represent justice! I just got bailed out ($10,000 Bond, $1,000 upfront) today, so I was only locked up for like 20 hours; but with my record who knows what will happen in court. I hate cops and I hate the so-called law. mad

Anyway, I am done talking politics, law or anything close to it... Not just now, but permanently on the forum. I am too emotional on the subject to hold genuine objective conversations. So, on this forum I am going to stick to topics that have nothing to do with politics or law at all.

Well you don't want to know what I think then.

For the winner there was a big three-legged cauldron to stand over a fire - it was worth a dozen oxen by the Greek's reckoning - and for the loser he brought forward a woman thoroughly trained in domestic work whom they valued at four oxen.

America's "legal" system is extremely harsh (I presume you are living in US). In Portugal, where I live, I got caught by the police a few times with hash, but nothing hapened, I didn't even went to the police station. They just gave me the sermon...

Anyway, I've got rid of that hash/marijuana rubish. I know very few people, if any, that use it properly. I lost years of my life as a direct and indirect consequence of consuming hash.

I hope nothing bad hapens to you in court.

The problem with police is that most of them are too stupid to understand the purpose of the laws they enforce rather than just blindly enforcing those laws in a pseudo-objective context.

Fortunately these are entwined most of the time so that they are correctly doing what someone who understands the purpose of a law would do, but not always as is the case when they just arrest someone "because the law is the law" or "That is what the law says".

These reasons are clearly detached from their original purpose, they don't serve to carry out those ideals which they might have originally being based on when they were created.

Like Indeed said, often times the law is enforced just because it's "the law", even if the spirit of the law is superceded in the process. But then again, maybe the cops felt that you really deserved the punishment? Anyways, that really sucks Floyd. Hopefully the judge will shed mercy upon your soul sad. It's incidents like these that really make me question the "fairness" of the law, since you will probably receive a worse punishment than white collar criminals who steal hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Millions of people smoke pot every day without being arrested. You've now been arrested ?twice. Rather than complaining about how stupid the Police are and how stupid the laws are, perhaps you should be thinking about how stupid YOU are. You either need to stop smoking pot or get a whole lot more sneaky. There's a type of Darwin meets Pavlov thing going on here. Do you get it yet?
BTW, sorry for your troubles.

It could possibly be that the cops have received a number of complaints about teens congregating in the area you were in, doing drugs etc, and they're trying to 'clean up' the area.

Bloody hell, 10g is 4 months wages for me. I' glad I live in a part of Sydney where the cops have bigger things to worry about than a couple of stoners.

Move north to Canada Floyd. Mary-Jane is virtually decriminalised (If you possess enough you can still get criminal charges for dealing). My ex-roommate was a chronic, but moved to Wisconsin for work. He doesn't partake anymore because he is worried about legal ramifications. This is a guy in his thirties who owns his own company. The 'war on drugs' managed to lump pot together with heroin and crack, which is clearly ludicrous. I fell your pain, but you really only have a few choices that I can see. Quit the chronic, be sneakier, or move away from the states.
