I decided to join this Philosophy Forum after googling and checking out several. I seem to be a reflective person which often puts me at odds with those that just speak or act without reflection.

I'm a member at a history formum. That's a great place for information, but it is not a satisfactory place to post my thoughts and get thoughtful replies. I'm also a moderator at a weather forum.

My username is Coriolis. This is a weather term, but for me it has deeper implications. In weather, the coriolis effect describes how the rotation of the earth causes the rising air to rotate. However in the most basic form it causes the apparent motion of airborne objects to change with reference to the earths surface. As a result, an object that is moving in a northerly direction will actually trace out a northwesterly path on the ground. This applies to life as well, in which we think we are headed in one direction but end up in a different place!

Looking forward to learning and sharing here.

Hi coriolis, welcome to PF.

I adore simple pleasures. They are the last refuge of the complex.
