Meh, not much of a topic here:

I have considered Fascism to be on the Right [conservative] of Capitalism, and thus an image of three economic forms would be, from left to right:

Fascism Capitalism Socialism

Of course, I've heard differently lately; that Fascism is the moderate one confused and so I turn to the elites of PF grin Anywase, what's your guys take on this?

The traditional political spectrum does not do an adequate job of portraying the nuances between different political ideologies.

Firstly, fascism is not an economic system. So, it is not a good idea to compare it with Socialism and Capitalism (two economic systems).

Fascism is an ideology that is nationalist, reactionary and hence the end of the ideology is go back to some great tradition. The ideology does not want to preserve what a state has because of skepticism towards change, but change just in a direction that is regressive rather than progressive. Hence, I do not think that fascism is right wing in the classical sense of those who sat on the right in the French Revolution.

In terms of economic systems Fascist regimes have placed themselves in between Capitalism and Socialism. Most fascist regimes were/are mixed economies. For while, property tended to remain private hands in name, the state controls commerce heavily to serve the nation, for a free market does not serve the nation. Also, in order for social engineering the state usually will provide many social services.

I would just say that fascism is both socially authoritarian and economically collectivist (as the economy must serve the people). In the same sense Conservatism is socially moderate and economically individualist, and Modern Liberalism is economically moderate and socially liberal.
