Hi all, could someone please recommend a good place to start gaining an understanding of Existentialism? I am taking a course on it in the fall and due to the rest of my workload I would like to have at least a little understanding beforehand. Books, websites, blogs, dissertations scribbled on bathroom stall walls, all recommendations are appreciated.

Try William Barrett's Irrational Man.

Be outrageous but don't be an ass.

Sartre's L'existentialisme est un humanisme is of course main "popular" introduction to existentialism (though Sartre later turned against the idea of existentialist morality described therein).

The grounding-attunement of the first beginning is deep wonder that beings are, that man himself is extant, extant in that which he is not.
