Got this error message from clicking a link to one of realistcat's recent posts from his profile(because the illiteracy report link didn't work):

If you are not the administrator of this site, please report this page to the administrator. If you are the administrator, please pay careful attention: You have a parse error in your template templates/default/viewcomments.tpl (or perhaps in your header or footer) which you need to repair before this page can be displayed correctly. The error is picked up on by php at line 934 of the output.Line #929:
Line #930:
Line #931: <br /><span class="labels">Usergroup:</span> Members
Line #932: <br /><span class="labels">Joined:</span> Sep 11, 2009
Line #933: <?php if (192.168.1.1) { ?><br /><span class="labels">Location:</span> 192.168.1.1<?php } ?>
Line #934:

[Load this template in your template editor]

Note that the line of the output is not necessarily the same line number in your template... just look for a similar looking area. The source of your error is probably not on line 934 itself, but most likely a line or two before it. Check your code carefully for syntax mistakes. If you cannot recognize one, copy and paste this output into a thread on the support forum.
Now outputing the page without any conditional or php sections evaluated:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://forums.philosophyforums.com/jquery/jquery.min.js"> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://forums.philosophyforums.com/javascriptheader.php"> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://forums.philosophyforums.com/jquery/jquery.bgiframe.min.js"> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://forums.philosophyforums.com/jquery/jquery.ajaxQueue.js"> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://forums.philosophyforums.com/jquery/jquery.autocomplete.js"> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://forums.philosophyforums.com/jquery/jquery.form.js"> <script type="text/javascript"> $().ready(function() { $("#searchauto").autocomplete("/autocomplete.php?action=searchauto", { width: 250, selectFirst: false }); $("#searchauto").result(function(event, data, formatted) { if (data) $(this).parent().next().find("input").val(data[1]); }); $('a.ajaxlink').bind('click',function(event) { event.preventDefault(); $.get(this.href,{},function(response) { var parts = response.split('[, ]'); $('#postrating'+parts[0]).html(parts[1]) }) }) });

It was this one:

Hi Paul,

Same problems as before, have just been getting around it. I could try another browser, but I surf from a minimum OS, don't want to keep adding things to it if I can avoid it (am using opera 8.54 with a separate firewall disabled when I post).

1) I am having to login by calling up one of my own posts (the login and the shoutbox on the main page do not respond), responding to it, getting the login page, and the box on the left side is "hot", I can enter my name and id there, the box on the top of the same page is dead. It kind of interests me anyway, since I just took some courses in web programming (mostly php), but in any case there is a repeatable 'error', a difference in two "sends" from the same page, one sends and the other doesn't react to a carriage return, is dead.

2) Wanted to make a new post just now. I can get as far as entering the post, go to post/preview (either one), and here is what happens (and whats funny is that I can post to existing threads, those post/preview buttons work):

The address on the "enter post page":

http://forums.philosophyforums.com...php?action=addlink&catid=4

The address and page which displays on pressing "post/preview":

http://forums.philosophyforums.com...hp?action=addlink&filled=1

Report this likely bug: non-numeric catid.

WSN Forum 5.1.1

Hope I made it specific enough! And thanks (maybe it is just a matter of tweaking something in my browser since it doesn't seem anyone else is having trouble, but I looked through, don't see anything suspicious). In any case intriguing.

The Shouts. It is/isn't working. (to my satisfaction...)

If I shout 3 times one day, I can only shout 2 times the next day because of the time rotation period being so far apart from my regular time zone. (my post time lands within two 'day' periods.)

Mmm... on second thoughts, that is probably a good thing?

The search in the "Search thread for" box does not find instances of a word if in the text that word was followed without space by punctuation.

For example, in the previous post in this thread is the word [slept] with a comma after the 't' [slept,] If I type in [slept] the search can't find it.

"I don't see much sense in that," said Rabbit.

"No," said Pooh humbly, "there isn't. But there was going to be when I began it. It's just that something happened to it along the way."

Arkady reports that the "find all posts posted by _______" function is only listing three pages of results, regardless of how many posts one actually has. As it turns out, the "find all topics submitted by _______" function is having the same problem.
