She demanded I hand over my username, so after being left nameless I decided to take the just-freed one. I figure it'll make me more popular. Must make the best of the namejacking.

I was typing up a post, and I just finished it when, magically, the pad just went blank. So, I had to do it all over again.

I presume this would be the WYSIWYG editor? Firefox? Did it go blank before or after pressing the submit button. If after then that's my fault, if before then I can blame it on FCKEditor and not have to do anything.

One thread I opened had a different name of "author" from the username in the OP.

Possible scenarios:
1) The opening post was deleted (probably by the author), leaving the second post first.
2) The author's name changed. The thread view would show the latest name, the forum view would show the older cache.

Also, this Wizard of OZ, is he for real?

I'm pretty sure that was a fictional book.

The WYSIWYG. Also, it was before I hit submit button.

Searching within threads and narrowing a search of a member's posts to those containing certain words no longer seems to work. I have searched threads for words I am staring directly at and my own post history for words that I know I use frequently (though threads with the searched for word in the title do show up).

Re: searching

I had the same complaint from Kurt Godel in a PM. I gave him the google trick: search for "site:forums.philosophyforums.com <keywords>" and he was quite pleased with that trick.

Ethics is the measuring of morality. Morality is the measuring of good. Good is the measuring of benefit. Benefit is the measure of values.

Searching is intentionally messed up to try to make things less painfully slow. One of these days I'll add a google site search.

Topic saving is acting up in both Safari and Firefox. Whenever I attempt to save a topic or click on "Saved Topics," I get a very long error message (see attached).

I noticed I didn't get a PM message while I did have one when logging in. It also didn't appear in the top right corner where it usually does.

The newest version of both Firefox and safari?

"...There was a writer who asked why it was that when we find positive experiences we say that only the physical facts are real, but in negative experiences we believe that reality is subjective. He made an example of those who say that in birth only the pain is real, the joy a subjective point of view, but that in death it is the emotional loss that is the reality." - Tony Ballantyne, Recursion.

Topic saving was messed up, not having anything to do with browsers, at the time of his post.

It seems to be working now. And oddly enough, I think the topics I was trying to save actually show up on my list. Was it just the interface that wasn't working?
