Biography: We are all longing to go home, to some place we have never been, a place half-remembered and half-invisioned we can only catch glimpses of from time to time. Community. Somewhere, there are people to whom we can speak with passion without having the words catch in our throats. Somewhere a circle of hands will open to recieve us, eyes will light up as we enter, voices will celebrate with us whenever we come into our own power. Community means strength that joins our strength to do the work that needs to be done. Arms to hold us when we falter, a circle of healing, a circle of friends. Someplace where we can be free. - StarHawk

  • SittinWSocratesTiff [Feb 27, 2015 - 4:41 AM]: My point being that those whom serve WANT to serve 'us' their country more than serving the government.
  • SittinWSocratesTiff [Feb 27, 2015 - 4:39 AM]: baden, it is not misguided sense of Patriotism nor is serving a death sentence. In many cultures service is mandatory, in the USA it is Volunteer. Have you ever gone to school with someone who HAS to be in college vs those who want to be there?
  • SittinWSocratesTiff [Feb 26, 2015 - 3:44 AM]: The family/troop bond created while facing an enemy together is real. If there is no mandatory service, the 1% that does choose to serve, has to be supported by the citizens of the country it serves.
