[Feb 19, 2010 - 3:43 PM]: I mean that people are becoming more vicarious, that is, they take part in more vicarious experience. I am pointing towards a sociological observation: that we have celebrities "live our lives for us" (watching hours of television and reading magazines about often mundane details of celebrities lives), that people (especially the more impressionable) assume the character of celebrities rather than cultivate a unique one of their own and that I suspect that when we make spectacles of the vices of celebrities we do so in order to make us more comfortable about our own. And yes I am glad that the previous shout sounded like a preacher, I intended to give it such a character (for my own amusement).
