It would still result in the same problem concerning the pores... Of course I think you are asking another ethical aspect beyond the mere 'cutting of hairs.'

"...There was a writer who asked why it was that when we find positive experiences we say that only the physical facts are real, but in negative experiences we believe that reality is subjective. He made an example of those who say that in birth only the pain is real, the joy a subjective point of view, but that in death it is the emotional loss that is the reality." - Tony Ballantyne, Recursion.

Yes, plucking is the most reasonable way to do away with pesky nasal hair. But never in public. Some people around might be snippers and would feel irritated seeing a plucker plucking away. They might even feel disgust toward the plucker because he has a stonger will. I agree that the overman would pluck away anywhere.

This song will prepare you for a good smile.

Now look what you have done. Your failure to treat with the moral quandary of the OP has resulted in the thread's being moved - and not even to pseudo; to off-topic!

I feel unsupported and alone, my work unappreciated.

I was still thinking of an appropriate reply outside of poetic license...

Just get a nose hair trimmer, like this one.

See? Problem solved.

Now, back to philosophy.

I was treating this thread as seriously as one can treat such a matter. What more you do want?

You have missed the issue entirely - as if that lac-a-beard in the ad could represent the best and boldest amongst us!

The question is a simple one - is nose-hair plucking character building? Is it something in which the philosopher ought engage?

It appears that there is a plot here to hide the issue by removing it from the main stream of threads and posting irrelevancies so that others cannot see the issue! I noticed Paul himself lurking on this thread.
