Why bother moving an example to examine how people mis-construe ethics as morals and vice versa?

Instead of moving you should just bloody well delete the thing.

"...There was a writer who asked why it was that when we find positive experiences we say that only the physical facts are real, but in negative experiences we believe that reality is subjective. He made an example of those who say that in birth only the pain is real, the joy a subjective point of view, but that in death it is the emotional loss that is the reality." - Tony Ballantyne, Recursion.

I moved the thread because it and some of the subsequent discussion were unclear, and what was clear sometimes seemed a little loony. I didn't delete the thread because it had responses, which would also be deleted.

If I may say so, Cad, many of your posts are hard to understand. Communication is of course a skill, and I don't feel I've mastered it -- maybe this is an area we should focus on. If even threads are unclear, though, that doesn't mean no thought when into them, so I prefer to put threads in Pseudophilosophy before deleting them. If you're saying you don't feel the same way, I can certainly take that into account, but unless I'm certain you prefer deletion over moving, I'd feel safest taking the least invasive action appropriate.

The amount of stupidity I see every day is sometimes unbearable. But what can I do? You can't convince a Muslim or Jew that his God is false.

This song will prepare you for a good smile.

Meh... it's already a dead subject to me.

"You can't judge a book by it's cover." is a good saying. It unfortunately does not translate to "what pertains to thought."

It's bad enough that it is another 'cadrache' thread. The build up of a person's thought get's worse if the cover is en-titled 'pseudo.'

I highly doubt then that there could actually be any gain or new insight to looking at ethics and morals for another few years.

Is that a rhetorical question or a genuine request?

Assuming the latter, the problem may arise partly because being thought to be stupid does not encourage one to listen to someone who holds that opinion.

So you could perhaps start by assuming that people who disagree with you are not stupid and have some reason for thinking as they do. Then they are more likely to listen to your views and possible even change their own.

You are over assuming my position. I did not say it in a way that means "I am smarter than you". What I meant by stupidity is the thought that everyone thinks they are smarter than the other and wants to proove it. It's the "power conflict" that starts out of this, that is really pointless. People who disagree with me have the right to disagree with me. If what they say is not narrow minded then I will gladly listen to them.
