Hello everyone, My name is Anthony Marshall. I'm 25 years old, and a current student of both Pure Mathematics and Philosophy. I'm very excited to have a place where I can both read and participate in informed philosophical debate (my participation being contingent upon a requisite period of reflection as per the forum guidelines ).

I think at it's most basic, pure math means that I'm not going to be making very much money with my degree

Huh??? What is this concept "informed" that you speak of?

informed: adj. reinforced by information. not necessarily right or wrong, but considered before put forth.

??? Isn't that the opposite of philosophy then? Considered before put forth? I normally see considered after put forth... Maybe that is why people easily get confused with philosophy? They think "informed philosphy" in lieu of functional philosophy.
