I supose it's how friendly other people find you. You get it if you; like the company of peopel in general, take note of the many different types of people and understand what they like and finally through having confidence. It's mostly one of those things that either one has or hasn't. eg one find it hard to get into general banter with people therefore he wont come across as chrismatic.

I'd like to feel I am charismatic, not being modest here, because I try to make other people happy as often as possible. I try to relate to them, make them laugh, brighten their spirits and generally give them a good impression of myself because of this.

Charisma in this sense does not necessarily mean suave charm or acting like a braggard, rather being able to relate to people you meet. People then see you as charismatic because you then stand out to them. You appear as though you can communicate with anyone.

This means how you look is not a prerequisite.

Charisma represents faith placed by others in you. One with a high charisma is compelling to others.

Charisma can be derived from several things (almost all perceived); knowledge, skill, charm, friendliness. A large part is how one expresses these traits in their demeanor (i.e. knowledge alone does not correlate with charisma, but one who is knowledgeable yet humble is often considered charismatic).

For me, i find that i'm viewed as being charismatic in certain settings, but not in others. I play a sport, and in the communtity pursuant to the sport, i am regarded as a leader - derived mainly from my skill, knowledge and demeanor. However, at my job (which i am significantly less passionate about) this perception is not made by others, mainly because i'm not a "go-getter" (though the go-getter with the wrong attitude also lacks charisma).

I find that the type of people who I find charismatic are those with lots of confidence and who are outgoing - generally the telltale signs of this would be things like always keeping a grin on your face, keeping your head up high, making lots of eye contact (really important to be charismatic to women, I've found wink).

Some of those things are hard to fake but confidence is a self-fulfiling prophesy. You become what you try to be.

Make your own rules.

Charisma isn't necessarily just how friendly other people find you- it incorporates activity as well... A charismatic person is not just "mr-nice-guy who doesn't say antying", a charismatic person is someone who stands up for others in a fight- someone who goes out, gathers people together and makes them get something done, all the while making them feel good about doing the thing.

It can also be an effect of knowing people well enough to be able to manipulate them.

I heard that you are born with charisma, that strong sense of leadership that always attracts people. There are two types of charisma that I see. one is despotic as such case is illustrated in Adolf Hitler or Attila the Hun. They showed brutality and subdued people. The other example would be those that "SERVE", the kind we see today. THe ones that serve are considered to be truly charismatic. Such example would be Jesus. He tells us that he's come to serve, not to rule.

Zack you seem a bit Jesus obsessed my old mucker. Keep your preaching to the religious discussions, you won't save any souls here.

Charisma does equate to all of the things you have all mentioned above. Could it be said that it also requires a degree of falseness? After all, if one is considered charismatic by a group of acquaintances, could this force the charismatic person to act in such a way even if they did not feel like it.

We all wear masks at times...a 'charismatic' person is no different.

The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.

Filter, I am NOT preaching to anyone. I am merely asserting my opinions. Find any strong words that imply my coercion wink Besides, I was giving examples. :P
